Lorry Loader (ALLMI)

At Home Counties Training Ltd, we provide professional ALLMI accredited lorry-mounted loader (HIAB) training for individuals and businesses across the UK who need to safely lift, move, and transport goods using vehicle-mounted cranes. Our training is designed to meet recognised UK industry standards, ensuring operators develop the technical knowledge, practical ability, and safety awareness required to work confidently in construction, logistics, utilities, and general transport environments.

Training can be delivered either at your site or at an approved training location, with flexible scheduling to minimise disruption to your operations. Our experienced instructors draw on real-world industry knowledge to adapt each course to the specific vehicles, attachments, loads, and working conditions your team will encounter. The focus is always on practical understanding, safe operation, and full compliance with industry requirements, helping operators gain recognised ALLMI certification while building the competence needed for everyday workplace challenges. Please contact with your requirements.

Driver CPC

At Home Counties Training, we believe in learning by doing. For the mandatory 35 hours of Driver CPC training every five years, many of our candidates choose to complete either a single 7-hour course or two 3.5-hour sessions spread acro--ss the year.

Our courses are available both in the classroom and online, allowing us to accommodate different learning styles, schedules, and individual needs. To find out more about availability or discuss your specific requirements, please contact us directly, and we’ll help you choose the best training option for you or your team..

Slinger Signaller

At Home Counties Training, we understand how crucial it is for teams to have the knowledge and skills needed to work safely. Our Slinger Signaller course, sometimes referred to as the “Slinger Banksman” course, equips candidates to safely manage and direct the movement of plant machinery, including tower cranes.

In this context, the banksman element focuses on controlling loading and unloading operations, ensuring clear and safe communication with the crane driver at all times. The course emphasises practical techniques, recognised safety procedures, and effective signalling, giving candidates the confidence and competence to oversee operations safely and efficiently on site.

Driver LGV/HGV

At Home Counties Training, we provide comprehensive LGV (Light Goods Vehicle) and HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) training designed to equip drivers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to operate safely and efficiently on UK roads. Our programmes cover everything from vehicle handling, manoeuvring, and load security to compliance with Driver CPC regulations and industry best practices.

Courses are tailored to the needs of individuals and businesses and are available on-site or at our training centres. We offer flexible scheduling and a combination of classroom based learning and practical, hands-on driving experience to ensure every driver gains real-world competence. Whether you are preparing for your first licence, upskilling your team, or maintaining Driver CPC requirements, our expert trainers deliver training that is practical, relevant, and fully aligned with UK transport regulations.

Fork Truck Training

At Home Counties Training, we offer a range of forklift (fork truck) training courses that we pride ourselves on as being second to none. Our programmes are designed to provide operators with the knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness needed to handle forklifts confidently and efficiently in a variety of workplace environments.

Courses are tailored to suit both individuals and teams, for on-site or centre-based training. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on practice, we ensure every candidate develops the competence and confidence to operate safely while meeting industry regulations and best practices.

OLAT

At Home Counties Training, we provide Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT) for both transport and non-transport personnel, including board directors who may have responsibility for operator compliance.

The course is designed to enhance understanding and strengthen knowledge of operator licensing requirements, giving participants a clear insight into the legal responsibilities, obligations, and regulatory framework surrounding the operation of commercial vehicles. By attending OLAT, personnel gain the confidence to manage compliance effectively, support safe and lawful operations

Transport Audit & Department Setup

At Home Counties Training, we support businesses in developing and strengthening their transport operations. Operator licence holders are legally required to have systems and arrangements in place that ensure the safe and compliant operation of all vehicles under their licence.

One of the most effective ways to assess these systems is through independent audits, which can help operators identify weaknesses and implement improvements. Traffic commissioners may also accept undertakings from operators, demonstrating a commitment to future compliance and potentially reducing the need for formal regulatory action.

We also recognise that transitioning from an owner-driver to running a full transport business can be daunting. Our training and advisory support are designed to guide businesses through this process, helping them establish compliant, efficient, and safe operations from the outset, giving owners confidence and clarity as they grow their business.
